You can regain access to your account quickly if you forget your password. You just need access to the email address linked to your Epic Games profile.
You use this method when you cannot sign in at all.
Go to the Epic Games login page.
Click Sign In With Epic Games.
Click Forgot Your Password? (located above the sign-in button).
Enter the email address associated with your account.
Click Send Email.
Check your inbox for an email from Epic Games.
Click Reset Password inside the email.
Enter your new password and confirm it.
You might want to update your password for security reasons even if you remember the old one.
Go to epicgames.com/account.
Select Password & Security from the left menu.
Enter your current password.
Enter your new password in the box below.
Retype the new password to confirm.
Click Save Changes.
You should check these common issues if you do not receive the reset email.
Spam Folder: Check your Spam or Junk folder. The email often lands there.
Typos: Verify you typed the email address correctly.
Wrong Email: Ensure you are checking the email address actually linked to your Epic account, not a different personal email.
Social Login: If you usually sign in with PSN, Xbox, or Google, try logging in with those buttons instead of typing a password. You reset those passwords on the Sony, Microsoft, or Google websites, not on Epic Games.
You must create a password that meets these security rules.
Length: At least 7 characters.
Complexity: Must contain at least one number and one letter.
Spaces: No spaces allowed.
History: You cannot use any of your last 5 passwords.
